PLASMA STRIPPING TECHNOLOGY
3SAE Fiber Preparation Unit, FPU II (for polyimide coatings)
The 3SAE Fiber Preparation Unit, FPU II, provides a noncontact and chemical free window or end face stripping of polyimide and carbon coated optical fibers.
The FPU II features 3SAE’s patented Ring of Fire® Technology which surrounds the fiber with a uniform heat in controlled ionic conditions. This patented low temperature arc plasma process will window or end strip polyimide and carbon coated fibers quickly and cleanly without use of any mechanical blades, acid or any other chemicals.
The automated process provides consistent stripping results without requiring any special operator skills.
The FPU II can accommodate fiber holders from the most common fusion splicer manufacturers. The strip lengths are adjustable and easily programmable.
- Chemical free fiber stripping and cleaning
- Variable strip lengths from 2mm to 30mm
- Compact bench top design
- Supports fiber holders from Fitel, Fujikura and 3SAE
